On the left you will see several links. the first link you want to click is Student Registration. After reading the following instructions go to that link. The password is (RTV) Your user id is your student ID.
After you register visit the "Student Homepage" Be sure to remember your user id and password. You will need it later.
Follow the directions and create a short homepage of your own. Let me know what you are interested in learning about. Consider that you are making it for me, to help me get to know you better. Other students will view this as well. (5 Points)

Although we missed class on wed we will simply have to skip the film- talk to me and pick up with ch 8 and radio format wars on monday. We are still on track. Be sure to read ch 8.

Important-Jay says yes to the ever amazing RTV 100 class. The date is Thursday November 19th. You must be in Burbank by 2pm. Sorry for the late notice. I need confirmation on Monday if you can attend. I will also be sending out a new schedule because of class being canceled today. Sorry about that.

research paper topic due monday October 26th. Write on piece of paper your topic and turn in for approval. Remember it can be almost any topic as long as it relates to rtv or web. Look under course documents for examples.

Course Description
This course is an introduction to the American system of electronic communication. It deals with the origins, historical development, and the present structure, characteristics, and problems of the broadcasting industry, including radio, television, cable and related electronic media. You will learn how electronic communication works, how it is organized, how it is financed, how it is regulated, its effects upon society, and its future potential.
Beyond learning facts, you will be confronted with the issues that shape this industry. You will be challenged to be more sophisticated in analyzing the influence of the electronic media in your life, and to take a more creative and active role in shaping the direction of electronic communication in the future.
